Bags of garbage

The photos of bags of garbage on this blog do not magically appear. I fill the garbage bag up in 15 min. to an hour and take the bag to be picked up by the city. Most garbage comes from little bits everywhere that add up to one large bag when collected into a group. Photos height and width (March 26, 2024) now match original.

I went to the western edge of Whitehorse/ChevalBlanc rpaids woods. I went with the intention of taking out the stolen telephones, my primary mission. Lots of mosquitoes, my DEET repellant once applied , repelled them.
As I had commented before, the plants are growing tremendously and I got lost for a while looking for the telephones location. I underestimated how deep, or far north they were in, in this section.

I was surprised this trail was still underwater.
Along with losing their location, I also forgot how heavy the telephones are. I had built a new container for my bike and doubted it could carry the weight. I settled on taking the telephones to the trail for later pick up. I will take them one by one with my regular milk-box container, a much stronger container.
Ants were living in one of the telephones are they were not happy of the move.
During my travels of the park I found three adult turtles.

Garbage. Some less than intelligent school child dumped their school papers in two locations, less than intelligent because their name is all over the evidence. I cleaned it up for them.

Garbage at the entrance to Des Arbres park. I cleaned this up.

I also took out a plastic chair and three metal bars. My new container was full. I took it all to Brook park. My cameras battery was out of power so I could not take a photo of the full container going into the city container.

I cleaned walked the western edge of Bois de Liesse. I intended to go inside but there are too many mosquitoes and I had no repellant.https://www.google.ca/maps/@45.4955377,-73.7811678,1003m/data=!3m1!1e3

There are lots of tiny wildflowers.
Lots of wildflowers such as daisy's.

Just a bit west of the official park.

The garbage I found and cleaned up. Lots of bad fishermen out there, for the fishing line and worm containers I find.

The plants are growing so fast and large I can not imagine what they will do in July when there is even more sunlight. I wonder if the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere has made them grow more? Oxygen is at 20% while CO2 is at 0.04%

Very fast growth of the plants covers up the old rusted car parts.

I thought I had finished cleaning up the glass when I found more.

My feet in the cold river

Bad News, they put the standard garbage container in Brooks park (the closest city garbage container). It is very difficult for me to dump my broken glass garbage in this type of container.

Regular garbage I picked up, two spray paint cans on the right side.

The broken beer bottles I picked up and at the city garbage container.

CBC news makes a story on the problem on the garbage in parks.

Mount Royal needs better garbage strategy, citizen says
Garbage cans with lids, recycling bins, banning barbecues among the suggestions to keep park clean

Mount Royal Park – the 200-hectare jewel set aside for public use in the centre of Montreal – is being left strewn with garbage after any sunny weekend, and a resident of neighbouring Westmount is urging visitors to help keep the park clean.
"As soon as the weather gets nice, people start using the mountain," Paula Engels told CBC Radio's host of Daybreak, Mike Finnerty. "People are enjoying this beautiful mountain that we have...and they should.

Nature Photo ( Roxboro Island)

Garbage I collected during the morning walk

This foam container was floating in the Les Rapides du Cheval Blanc. It bugged me, but no longer!
I walked and bike the shoreline from Roxboro Island to the Les Rapides du Cheval Blanc official park and collected one bag of garbage, that is in the second photo.
