Bags of garbage

The photos of bags of garbage on this blog do not magically appear. I fill the garbage bag up in 15 min. to an hour and take the bag to be picked up by the city. Most garbage comes from little bits everywhere that add up to one large bag when collected into a group. Photos height and width (March 26, 2024) now match original.

Active Demon

There is an active Demon at Cheval Blanc whitehorse rapids. Just a mild one I hope.

I conclude this with three or four pieces of evidence.

Today was Eco-quartier day and I went cleaning with a group of people.

Someone found a long twisted bar of metal I put in the garbage the other day. The metal came out of the cement I broke up with a sledgehammer. This demon person took it out of the garbage container and hid it somewhere in the woods. It was found today. I recognized it, but couldn't say anything without sounding insane, so I didn't. Metal in background photo here.

Just like the bike frame of my previous post. My second piece of evidence.

My third piece of evidence was a small bag of dog shit hanging about ten feet up near Todays gathering of people who care about the greenspace. I got a tool, a rake to reach to untwist it from the branch it was hanging on, and threw it out.

Fourth is someone setting the grass on fire in the forest, we ( who love the forest-greenspace) have been lucky the fire dies out after a small area burn.

Last year I abandoned Whitehore-Cheval blanc forest for the futility of the fight against the garbage.

Regular garbage accidentally left behind I can forgive, but I might not forgive a demon playing hide and seek with garbage. Getting angry at the demon is what the demon wants.

"When it gets down to having to use violence, then you are playing the system’s game. The establishment will irritate you – pull your beard, flick your face – to make you fight. Because once they’ve got you violent, then they know how to handle you. The only thing they don’t know how to handle is non-violence and humor. John Lennon"

I took out the motorcycle frame from Cheval Blanc for the SECOND TIME . It was near the bog area. A twenty minute walk, so about a mile in the forest-park.
The FIRST TIME was in 2010 when I had cut it in half to make it light enough to carry out. I made a blog post about it here.

I had found the bike in 2009 and post a photo here.

I also collected a bag of trash mostly consisting of drink cans and plastic bottles. I attached the bike frame to my large back-pack in order to carry it out. Otherwise it is too much work for ones hands and arms to continually hold it while walking. :::

I finished cleaning the shoreline of RDP riviere des prairies post 200. The (upper) park area still has plenty of trash.
I did the Northern half of the shoreline on Monday morning. The center of the shoreline being the cement output from the city building. No photos because it was raining and I didn't want to get my camera wet.

Bog-Swamp at Cheval Blanc Rapids/Whitehorse Rapids

A cars rear axle with differential in the bog. I had this and the engine block in the same spot. The engine block was moved back into the swamp by some insane person.

I bolted on a square 1 inch metal rod.
I put an axle into the square rod.
I put wheels on the axle.
I then rolled the car axle out of the woods. I wasted 20 minutes of my time though. I thought this one trail (south-north) was going to go to the southern east west trail, but it ended in a dead end. I had to backtrack to where I started. The southern east-west trail is more like a road.
I started at 4PM and finished at 5 PM .
I couldn`t move it another inch as it still was very heavy to lift and push.
I didnt take a photo at the finish as I dont know the legality of dumping a car axle on city property.

If I had to do it again , I would have put four (4) wheels on it and pulled it.
 _______________
The INSANE
In my accidental detour bringing the car axle out, I found the metal bike frame I had cut up and thrown out last year two years ago. Some f-ing insane person had carried it back in. Unbelievable! Why would anyone do this? Did they also bring the car tires in? This metal frame bring in was no small distance, maybe a mile or something. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. The car axle I just took out, is too heavy to bring back in, I am fairly certain.

I discovered someone had moved the engine block BACK into the swamp. OK no problem. It was just a few feet, maybe 50 feet or more. I can handle it. For a few moments-minutes I hoped-believed someone had taken it out, until I found it a short distance away next to a fireplace.
Anyways, this day I looked around for the first time in a while (I had been away for the winter) and collected all the small stuff (garbage). The metal drive shaft with bearing (in this photo )was found next to the engine block. The rest is some thin sheet metal that is badly rusted.

Whitehorse rapids park. The large white Styrofoam box was caught in the bushes along the shoreline for a few weeks time. I finally could pull it out, and throw it out. What an eyesore!
With two small bags of garbage. The piece of green treated wood (toxic-poisonous)under the circular green metal garbage container, I threw it out- into the large metal garbage box for the building.

Hit jackpot in news articles

I hit the jackpot in news articles on Whitehorse rapids Cheval blanc
http://aprpr.org/?p=434'

this came from the building lot number lot 1 171 908

I talked to one person walking his dog, and he told me a story that they covered the land (10 to 20 years ago) in huge tarps to presumabley test for outgassing of the soil. Natural bog gas or Toxic gas or gas from decomposing garbage dumped on it?

The new building in Montreals ecoterritory is being bricked. It is at least 5 stories tall. Will take a photo and post it.

East of Cheval blanc rapids park there is a valley with construction waste in it.
I am attempting to make it look more natural, the garbage has mostly been covered up by the Forrest growth.
CEMENT pieces are still apparent , so to remove them I smashed them with my sledgehammer. The above photo is one of the larger pieces that I successfully smashed into small pieces.
REBAR and metal wire-rope is in random places, in the cement. After I smashed the cement the metal inside is free.

Success! I completely broke the cement up.

Four photo's of cement before smashing.

Large piece of cement. Starting...

Incomplete. This piece was too large to be smashed completely today. Maybe another day.

I worked about an half and hour in the woods east to the official cheval blanc park. I wore eye protection. The merge between what was there before the development and what is there now is harsh. People dumped cut down trees that do not biodegrade-rot, they dumped cement, they dump cut grass. Their is a dumpster nearby and whatever didn't go in the dumpster gets blown into the woods.
In a perfect world, it would be mandatory to build a fence between the dumpster and the forest-woods , to catch most of the garbage before it gets away.

I collected a small bag of garbage walking west along the shoreline of cheval blanc rapids, started just west of RDP 195. River water level is dropping. piece of treated (poisonous) green wood is from yesterdays cleaning job. I didn't take a photo because it was raining.

I found another section of concrete I can smash with my sledgehammer nature will "eat" the smashed concrete in a few years.

I found the tree-in-the-car once again in the area.

These two bags plus a bunch more in the narrow wooded area east of cheval blanc rapids park.
I put the other plastic in a regular dumpster for the townhouses-whatever they are called.

F.Y.I. This is prime time in Montreal to look for and find garbage.
The trees and bushes are not growing yet, so the garbage is clearly apparent. YOU MUST HAVE EYE PROTECTION if you do go cleaning in the woods/trees/bushes.
I have learnt to only clean public parks, DESIGNATED public parks. Private land should be cleaned by its owners. I once cleaned greenspace of the city of Montreal , it was then bulldozed for new housing. The land was not a designated park as I had assumed.

Along the river shoreline near RDP 190 . I performed about an hours worth of work-cleaning at the island park east of the cheval blanc whitehorse rapids park. I stuffed all the garbage in the green container, all but the large piece of metal on the left hand side.
The Pierrefonds garbage container is now full.

Took some of the rebar to the trash can, and picked up garbage along the east-west trail in the cheval blanc whitehorse rapids woods. the southern east-west trail. I stuffed lots of used plastic water bottles in the bag. One glass beer bottle in the shadow of the plastic bag.

The northern east-west trail is underwater in spots and is presently not walkable I believe.

A continuation of the attempt to remove an abandoned sewage cement pipe in whitehorse-cheval blanc rapids woods.

I had started the work to remove the cement sewer pipe March 12th.
